Medicaid Improvement and State Flexibility Act of 2025
3/5/2025, 5:08 AM
Summary of Bill HR 936
Bill 119 HR 936, also known as the "Medicaid Waiver Approval and Implementation Act," aims to make changes to title XI of the Social Security Act in order to allow states to have more control over the approval and implementation of waivers under the Medicaid program.
The bill seeks to streamline the process for states to request and receive approval for waivers that would allow them to make changes to their Medicaid programs. This would give states more flexibility in how they administer Medicaid, potentially leading to more efficient and effective healthcare services for Medicaid beneficiaries.
The bill emphasizes the importance of state input and approval in the waiver process, recognizing that states are in the best position to understand the needs of their Medicaid populations and tailor their programs accordingly. By allowing states to have more control over waivers, the bill aims to promote innovation and experimentation in Medicaid programs, ultimately improving the quality of care for Medicaid beneficiaries. Overall, Bill 119 HR 936 seeks to empower states to better meet the healthcare needs of their Medicaid populations by giving them more authority over the approval and implementation of waivers under the Medicaid program.
