Summary of Bill HR 428
Bill 119 HR 428, also known as the Cost Savings Enhancement Act, aims to amend title 5 of the United States Code to give federal agencies more authority to provide cash awards to employees who make cost-saving disclosures. The bill seeks to incentivize federal employees to identify and report opportunities for cost savings within their agencies.
The proposed legislation would allow federal agencies to offer cash awards to employees who successfully identify and report cost-saving measures that result in tangible financial benefits to the agency. These awards would serve as a way to recognize and reward employees for their efforts in helping the government operate more efficiently and effectively.
In addition to enhancing the authority for cash awards, the bill also includes provisions for other purposes related to cost-saving initiatives within federal agencies. The specifics of these additional purposes are not detailed in the summary provided. Overall, Bill 119 HR 428 aims to encourage federal employees to actively participate in identifying and implementing cost-saving measures within their agencies. By providing incentives in the form of cash awards, the bill seeks to promote a culture of efficiency and fiscal responsibility within the federal government.
