SBA IT Modernization Reporting Act

This bill requires the Small Business Administration (SBA) to implement the recommendations from a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report published on November 6, 2024, related to modernizing the SBA's information technology systems.

Specifically, the SBA must address risks related to its certification project that allows small businesses to apply for and manage government contracting certifications. The GAO recommendations include developing a project risk management strategy and risk mitigation plan and managing cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

The SBA must submit to Congress an implementation plan for the modernization not later than 180 days after the enactment of this bill.

I don't really understand what this bill is all about, but it sounds like it could be bad news for us regular folks. I mean, who knows what kind of sneaky stuff they're trying to pull with this thing? It just doesn't sit right with me. I think we need to be more careful about what we're letting these politicians get away with. It's just not fair to the rest of us.

I can't believe this bill is passing. This is going to make things so much harder for small businesses like mine. It's going to cost so much money to comply with all the new reporting requirements. How is this going to help us in the short term?

This bill is such a joke, like seriously? Who even came up with this crap? It's just another way for the government to waste our money and not actually do anything useful. I can't believe they expect us to support this garbage. SMH.
