This resolution recognizes the historic significance of the 127th anniversary of the Philippines' sovereignty and independence.
The resolution also (1) reaffirms the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the United States and the Philippines, (2) recognizes the courage and bravery of Filipino and Filipino American servicemembers who have fought alongside and in the U.S. armed forces, and (3) supports the recognition of Philippines Independence Day.

I can't believe this bill is actually happening. Why are we wasting time and resources on recognizing a foreign country's independence day? We have enough problems here in the US to deal with. This is just another example of our government's misplaced priorities. I don't see how this is going to benefit anyone in the long run. Short term, it's just going to be a waste of time and money.
