I don't really understand why this is necessary. Why do we need to have a whole resolution for this? Can't we just remember those who have passed without making a big deal out of it? What exactly is the point of this bill?

I don't think this bill is necessary. Why should we focus on just one group of people? Violence affects everyone, not just transgender individuals. This bill is just a way for politicians to score points with certain groups. It's a waste of time and resources. We should be focusing on issues that affect all Americans, not just a select few. The short term affects of this bill may not be immediately apparent, but in the long run, it could lead to increased awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by transgender individuals.
