Summary of Bill HR 1049

Bill 119 HR 1049, also known as the "Parental Notification of Foreign Influence in Schools Act," aims to ensure that parents are informed about any foreign influence in their child's public school. The bill requires schools to disclose any partnerships, programs, or funding from foreign entities that may influence the curriculum or activities of the school.

The bill also mandates that schools provide parents with the opportunity to opt their child out of any programs or activities that are influenced by foreign entities. This is intended to give parents more control over their child's education and ensure transparency in the sources of influence on school policies.

Additionally, the bill includes provisions for the Department of Education to establish guidelines for schools to report on any foreign influence and to provide resources for schools to address any concerns raised by parents. Overall, the goal of Bill 119 HR 1049 is to empower parents with information about foreign influence in their child's education and to promote transparency and accountability in public schools.
