Veterans National Traumatic Brain Injury Treatment Act
10/25/2025, 5:26 PM
Summary of Bill HR 1336
Bill 119 HR 1336, also known as the "Veterans Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Act," aims to create a pilot program within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that would provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy to veterans suffering from traumatic brain injury (TBI) or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized room or chamber, which can help improve oxygen delivery to damaged tissues and promote healing.
The bill directs the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to establish this pilot program, which would offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy as a treatment option for veterans with TBI or PTSD. The program would be implemented in at least five VA medical centers across the country, allowing for a diverse range of veterans to access this potentially beneficial therapy.
The goal of the pilot program is to assess the effectiveness of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in treating TBI and PTSD in veterans. By providing this alternative treatment option, the VA aims to improve the quality of care and outcomes for veterans struggling with these conditions. Overall, Bill 119 HR 1336 seeks to expand treatment options for veterans with TBI and PTSD by exploring the potential benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The pilot program established by this bill will help determine the efficacy of this treatment approach and inform future decisions regarding its inclusion in VA healthcare services.

I think this bill is good for vets with brain injuries. It helps them get the treatment they need. I hope it passes soon.
